In Loving Memory of
Gerard A. Schuster |
|
Gerard A. Schuster, 46, of Library Avenue, passed away peacefully
early Thursday morning, September 18, 2008, in the arms of his
loving wife, Liz, after a courageous, four year battle with cancer.
Born February 7, 1962, Gerard grew up in Lake George, the son of the
late George and Dorothy Schuster. Gerard is survived by his wife of
19 years, Elizabeth (Jones) Schuster. They have three beautiful
children: Gabrielle, Zachary, and Joseph. Gerard is also survived
by siblings, George Schuster, Doris Moon, Donie (Mary Ellen)
Schuster, Dennis (Ruth) Schuster, Gail (Bill) Hans, and Gwen
Dresser. Gerard was also loved by Liz's family: Theresa (Lee)
Strasser, Susan (Robin) Seneff, Ann (Kevin) Quigley, Robert
(Heather) Jones, Christopher (Kristine) Jones, Thomas (Michelle)
Jones, and George "Buster" Boudreau...and by all thirty eight nieces
and nephews.
Gerard graduated from Lake George High School in 1980 and worked for
twenty eight years at the "1,000 Acres Ranch and Resort." Gerard
loved his work, making life long friends among the guests there. As
a hobby, Gerard attended car auctions, buying and selling used cars,
one at a time. One never knew what car to expect the Schuster's to
be driving! Gerard loved to cook with his children, loved to take
them on the Lake, and loved just to see the smile on their faces.
The Schuster family appreciates the warm support of the community,
the compassionate care he received at C.R. Wood Cancer Center, along
with the spiritual guidance they received from Sister Linda Hogan,
CSJ. Most of all, they could never adequately thank Jack Arehart
for his friendship and generosity.
Services were held at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at
Saint Cecilia's Church, 3802 Main Street in Warrensburg. Rev. Paul
Cox presided. A reception followed.
Pallbearers were Jack Arehart, George Schuster, Ike Morey, George
Horwath, Vinny Crocitto, Dave Deeb, Kent Williams, Marty Fischer,
Gary Gunther and Rich Wagner.
Memorial donations in memory of Gerard may be made to the C.R. Wood
Cancer Center, Glens Falls Hospital, 102 Park Street, Glens Falls,
NY 12801; to the Building Fund of Saint Cecilia's Church, 3802
Main Street, Warrensburg, NY 12885; or to the charity of one's
choice. |
